Welcome to
Hampden Park Bowls Club, the Club in the Park. The Club is situated in the
beautiful Hampden Park on the outskirts of Eastbourne, some three miles from
the town centre.
We are a very sociable club and welcome new and
existing members and their partners. The club pavilion has been refurbished for
the 2009 season and can now offer its members, guests and visiting clubs the
use of the clubs full facilities. |

The park was gifted to
Eastbourne from the Ratton Estates in 1902 and was mentioned in the 1087
Doomsday Survey. The Park caters for all ages: there is a lake which is popular
with many species of wild fowl and numerous paths to explore.
Many
sporting activities contribute to the popularity of the park; these include
tennis, football and rugby, as well as outdoor and indoor bowls. |

Eastbourne is a
traditional seaside resort on the south coast. The town is sheltered by the
South Downs and enjoys favourable weather for most of the year.
The
seafront boasts world renowned carpet gardens, a Victorian Pier and Bandstand.
At the eastern edge of the town is the popular Sovereign Harbour where you can
take a relaxing walk and have a leisurely coffee or meal at one of the varied
cafes. The town centre is well appointed and home to many well known
stores. |
